Privacy

BillBud is a free billing assistant for BC emergency physicians, run by Braedon Paul, MD. It's built to work without collecting anything that identifies you or your patients.

Please don't enter patient identifiers

Describe cases with age, sex and clinical details only: no names, PHNs or dates of birth.

What happens to a question

Your question is sent to Anthropic's Claude to write the answer. Anthropic handles it under its commercial terms, under which, by default, it isn't used to train Anthropic's models. BillBud itself doesn't store the text of questions or answers, except as below.

What BillBud stores

• Anonymous usage counts: one row per question with its settings (specialty, shift, mode), timings and cost, and what the answer recommended (the billing codes and the dollar total). No question or answer text.
• Button use: which features are used (Copy, Share, Tools and so on), one row per tap, with no text.
• Visits: the name of the site that sent you (for example google.com, never the full address), whether you're on a phone or computer, and whether BillBud was opened from your Home Screen.
• Quick Code Lookup searches: the search word and how many codes it found, so missing codes can be added.
• Feedback you choose to send: a thumbs up or down saves that question and answer, with any comment, so the answer can be checked and BillBud improved. Messages from the Contact form are emailed to me.

Each of these is linked only to a random ID your browser makes for BillBud (shown below), not to your name, email or IP address. Nothing is sold or shared, and there are no ads.

What stays on your device

Your settings, pinned codes, quiz score and shift tally are saved in your browser only. Your chat is kept until you close the tab. On a shared computer, anyone using the same browser can see them.

Services BillBud uses

Anthropic (answers), Railway (hosting), Supabase (the usage database), Resend (email), Airtable (a copy of feedback) and Google Analytics (visit statistics). Some of these store data outside Canada.

Deleting your data

Use Contact at the bottom of BillBud and include your device ID: everything linked to it will be deleted.
